Club Excellence Requires Specific Training in 2026

New requirements for the Club Excellence Award for 2026-2027 were announced in July. Key club officers (president, secretary and treasurer) plus 10% of club membership must complete at least three courses from the Lions Learning Center prior to the October 31, 2026 deadline. This impacts Zone and District Excellence awards, too.

Individual Lions must take the initiative to complete (and pass) online sessions via the Lion Portal. If you don’t know how to access the Portal (or the Lions Learning Center), contact your club secretary or district Global Leadership Chair.

The Lions Learning Center offers almost 80 individual online classes – most simple, interactive sessions that are either position-specific or general Lions knowledge. Click here to see a list of course titles available. Regardless of one’s leadership position, there are sessions of great interest available.

Position-specific LLC sessions deal with basic tasks, expectations, and responsibilities. Club officers are encouraged to complete the position-specific classes.

Last April, club officer leadership training sessions were offered locally via Zoom. These position-specific trainings were recorded and a PDF summary of what was covered is available for review. Click on the course title to download a PDF summary of the training:

• Presidents, Vice Presidents   • LCIF Coordinators, Fundraising Chairs   • Club Board Directors   • Club Secretaries   • Club Treasurers   • Tail Twisters, Lion Tamers   • Club Service Chairs   • Club Membership Chairs   • Web, Social Media, Marketing Chairs   • Reporting on Lion Portal

Look to the Canyon State Lion to see further training opportunities, dates and times planned.
