Stacey W. Jones, from Miami Gardens, Florida, USA, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 95th International Convention, held in Busan, Korea, June 22-26, 2012.
Director Jones is a retired secondary school principal. A charter member of the Florida E-Lions Club and a Lion since 1992, he has held many offices within the association, including club president, membership chairperson, district governor, council chair, Certified Guiding Lion, president of the Florida Lions Eye Bank and district and multiple district LCIF chair. He has also served as director of the Florida Lions Foundation, director of the Florida Lions Camp, director of Florida Lions Conklin Center, presenter and moderator at several USA/Canada Leadership Forums and volunteered for two medical/dental missions to the Philippines.
In recognition of his service to the association, he has received numerous awards including the club Lion of the Year, 100% President’s Award, 100% Governor’s Award, Club Excellence Award, International President’s Leadership Medal, International President’s Commendation, district and multiple district Pilot Awards, Membership Builder’s Key and an Extension Award. He is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lions activities, Director Jones is active in numerous professional and community organizations, including Norland United Methodist Church, life member Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and previously active with the National Association of Secondary School Principals, National Society for The Study of Education, National Association of School Administrators and National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
Director Jones and his spouse Mary, also a Lion and Melvin Jones Fellow, have a daughter and son.
