To The Arizona Lions:
During this special holiday season, family and friends gather to celebrate together and express their joy in their religious beliefs. Many of our clubs have holiday gatherings with a variety of celebrations and good cheer.
But it is important to remember that Lions represent a wide swath of religions and varying religious beliefs. There are Christians (of many denominations), Buddhists, Sikhs, Jews, Muslims, Hindus and many more. We as Lions are taught to be tolerant of others’ beliefs and to respect their right to practice as they believe.
Please consider using non-denominational prayers at your functions, in the spirit of brotherhood and cooperation, not only during this holiday season, but throughout the Lionistic year. Good neighbors and good friends appreciate each other for their differences.
For our part, Lion Tia and I wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah and a happy, prosperous and fulfilling 2013!
